Walk and Run can turn: Left and Right versions for your game

Your download now has Walk_Left, Walk_Right, Run_Left and Run_Right beside the straight loops. The body follows a curve, the head leads and the inner feet take shorter steps, and the file tells your game how fast to turn.

A character that changes direction used to play the straight Walk while the game turned it, so the feet slid sideways. Walk and Run now come as turns too:

  • Walk_Left, Walk_Right, Run_Left and Run_Right are in your download beside the straight loops. They play in place, so your game's controller moves and turns the body.
  • The feet stay planted on the curve. The inner feet take shorter steps, the body leans in and the head looks ahead along the turn.
  • The file says how fast to turn. Each turn carries its turn rate in degrees per second. Turn your character at that rate while it moves and the feet stand still on the ground. The Unity export carries it too.
  • In the editor, Walk and Run have a Path row: Straight, ↰ Left and Right ↱ preview the turn, and a Bake box for each side decides whether it goes into your download.
  • Three new dials: Turn per loop, Lean into the turn and Head leads into the turn.

Turns come on creatures that walk or hop on legs. Snakes, flyers and crabs that walk sideways don't get them. Open Walk on any four-legged or two-legged creature and pick ↰ Left to see it.
