Clips opens without waiting: the skin preview stays ready when you switch tabs

Going back to Clips could freeze the editor for seconds on slower computers, even with nothing changed. The skin preview is now kept while you visit other tabs, and when a big model really needs a new one, you see a card first.

Each time you came back to Clips, the editor rebuilt the skin preview from scratch. On a fast desktop you never noticed, but on a laptop with a big model the page froze for a few seconds.

  • The skin preview is kept while you visit other tabs. It's only rebuilt when a joint or the model itself has changed.
  • A preview from your last bake is recognised and reused, as long as the bones still match it.
  • A big rebuild shows its card first, so the page doesn't freeze without telling you why.

Switch between Parts and Clips on a big creature to see it.
