New part: Pincer, a claw that snaps
A crab's or a scorpion's claw can now open and snap shut. The new Pincer part is the claw's moving jaw, or a pair of mouth parts; MonRig works out which way it closes from your mesh, and it snaps on every hit.
A claw has a fixed jaw and a moving one. MonRig can now animate the moving one:
- The Pincer part. Add it to a claw (on the hand), a jaw or a head. The Crab, Lobster and Scorpion layouts now come with a pincer on each claw.
- It closes the right way. MonRig reads from your mesh which side the other jaw is on, so the pincer shuts onto it instead of opening.
- It snaps on the hits. In the attacks the pincer opens on the wind-up and snaps shut on each claw's own hit. In Idle it clacks, in Hurt it flinches open, in Defeated it goes slack.
- New dials. Pincer open, Pincer shut, Pincer snap, Pincer clack and Pincer clacks per clip, shown only on the clips that use them.
- The pinch. On a creature whose claws have a pincer, the claw attack is a full-body pinch: the body dips and rears back, lunges forward with a step, and each claw thrusts forward on its own side and snaps.
Pick the Crab, Lobster or Scorpion layout, or add a Pincer part to a claw, to try it.
