Humanoid arms: Talk, Guard, Carry and Throw

Talk now plays real gestures, each with its own timing. Guard holds its fists in front of the face, never inside the body. Carry keeps loads out of the head, and Throw steps into the throw with the whole body.

The everyday arm animations on humanoids are rebuilt, with the hands always kept outside the body:

  • Talk. Each Manner now has eight different gestures, such as an offer, a shrug, a count, a point or a chop, and each takes its own time. Gesture speed sets the tempo. The hands rest on the chest or chin instead of going into it, and each hand stays on its own side of the body.
  • Guard. The fists are placed by height (chest, chin or brow) and pushed out in front of the body, never inside a big head or chest. New dials: Hands apart, Fists in front of the body and Lead fist ahead. On legs the guard does a ready bounce instead of shaking, and the curl guard is a real cover-up.
  • Carry. A load held in one hand sits out from the body (Hands apart). A load held overhead in both hands no longer sinks into a tall head.
  • Throw. The thrower steps into it: the front foot lifts and strides, the weight rocks back and then forward, and the hips lead the chest. The elbow no longer flips over during the throw.

A Talk or Guard you saved before keeps its old settings: pick its Manner or style again to get the new ones.
