MonRig vs Auto-Rig Pro
Auto-Rig Pro is a paid Blender add-on that rigs almost any creature (humans, dogs, horses, spiders, centaurs) and exports clean skeletons to Unity, Unreal and Godot. Its automatic marker placement works for humanoids; other creatures are set up by hand, and the animation is yours to make or retarget. MonRig places a creature's skeleton in the browser and generates the animation set itself.

When Auto-Rig Pro is the better choice
If you work in Blender and want a production control rig for any limb layout, with retargeting from motion capture and a careful game export, Auto-Rig Pro is the stronger rigging tool and costs little for what it does.
When MonRig is
- You want the animations made for you, not just the rig.
- You do not use Blender, or someone on your team should rig without learning it.
- You want one clip set with stable names across many creatures.
Questions
Does Auto-Rig Pro animate creatures?
No. It rigs them and retargets existing animation onto them with its Remap tool; making new clips is up to you. MonRig generates the clips from the skeleton.
Can Auto-Rig Pro rig a spider or a dragon?
Yes, by hand: its documentation describes empty rigs for any creature and limbs for spiders and centaurs. Its automatic Smart markers are for humanoids.
Is MonRig a Blender add-on?
No. MonRig runs in the browser and delivers FBX and GLB files, which Blender, Unity, Unreal and Godot import.
