The skin preview no longer freezes on big models
On a large model with many bones the editor used to stand still for several seconds when it opened and after every joint move. Now the skin is worked out in the background, with a progress bar, and about three times faster.
The editor shows how your mesh will bend before you bake, and on a big creature that takes some work. On a three-headed hydra with 35 bones the editor stood still for about 10 seconds, every time it opened and after every joint move, with nothing on screen to say why.
- Three times faster. Each bone's share of the skin is now worked out in parallel. The hydra opens in about 3 seconds instead of 10, and a joint move takes about 3 seconds too.
- The editor keeps moving. The work runs in the background, and a card shows what is being done and a bar that fills up.
- The same result. The preview is exactly the same as before, down to the last vertex. Small models are bound right away, as they always were.
