Long necks: four neck bones and a new Camel / llama layout

Horses, unicorns and giraffes now get four neck bones, and there is a new Camel / llama layout. The guided rig follows the curve of a long neck, and a camel is no longer refused with every marker in place.

A camel's neck dips forward from the shoulders and climbs back up to the head. With every marker in the right place, the guided rig still refused one camel: it said Top of the shoulders was outside the body. Now:

  • Top of the shoulders means the shoulders. The marker places the top of the shoulders and nothing else. It no longer pulls the start of the neck to the same point.
  • The neck follows the neck. The neck bones are laid along the middle of the neck itself, through every curve, instead of in a straight line through the air.
  • Four neck bones. The Horse, Unicorn and Giraffe layouts now have four neck bones, so a long neck bends smoothly when the head moves.
  • New: Camel / llama. Long legs under a high body, a four-bone neck and a short tail. It walks with a pace, both legs on one side moving together, as camels and llamas do. Pick it in the layouts, or name your model camel, dromedary, llama or alpaca and MonRig suggests it.

Necks with two or three bones move exactly as before.
