Compressed GLB files are unpacked before upload
A GLB saved with Draco or meshopt compression, or with WebP textures, used to stop at the upload and leave an empty creature behind. MonRig now unpacks it on your computer first and uploads a plain copy.
Many 3D generators and exporters save a GLB compressed, to keep the file small. MonRig could not read those files: the upload refused them, and the creature it had already made stayed empty. Now:
- Unpacked on your computer. When you pick a compressed GLB (Draco, meshopt, WebP or AVIF textures), MonRig unpacks it in your browser before anything else happens. The plain copy takes its place, with the same name, and the upload window shows ✓ Unpacked.
- Refused in words, before anything is made. A GLB that needs something MonRig cannot read is turned down right away, with a note under the drop zone saying why. No empty creature is left behind.
- Shorter upload windows. The steps of the upload window say less and the notes sit on one line. A suggested name no longer carries tails like -compressed, _draco or (1).
Any other file goes through as before.
