Your first rig: the next step is always on screen

We walked through the editor as someone who has never rigged anything and fixed every place where we got stuck.

From a walk-through of the editor as a complete newcomer:

  • The guided rig explains itself in one sentence, and Quick is the recommended button.
  • The side and front views frame the whole model.
  • A banner follows your markers: "2 of 5 placed. Next: click the Hips". Once the required markers are in, it carries the Fit button.
  • A click a few pixels beside the model snaps onto it, every placement says what comes next, and a real miss says that it missed.
  • Joints that end up outside the model are drawn red and named, in the banner and in the bake dialog.
  • Extra parts stay folded away until you need them.
  • When baking a single clip has to bake everything again, the bake dialog now says why: the engine was updated, the model changed, the bones changed, or it is the first bake.
