Toes lie flat on feet with a high ankle
On a foot with a high ankle, the toe bone could run along the whole sole and the foot bone straight down the shin. The toe is now sized by the foot's length, not the ankle's height.
- The fit sized the toe from the distance between the ankle and the toe tip. On a high ankle that distance is mostly height, so the toe came out far too long: it ran along the whole sole, and the foot bone ran down the back of the shin to the heel.
- The toe is now sized by the foot's length along the floor, and the ball of the foot always stays in front of the ankle.
