+ Hock: split a shin into a three-part leg

Select a plain leg and press + Hock: its shin splits in the middle into a three-part leg, ready for you to drag the new joint onto the hock. On the stage, in Setup and in Parts.

Some starters build a plain leg on purpose (a stegosaur stands on straight columns), but your model may have a visible hock.

  • Select a leg and press the amber + Hock button on the stage, next to Mirror and Midline. The same button is in Setup and Parts.
  • The shin splits in the middle into a three-part leg. Drag the new joint onto the hock you see on the model.
  • A click on a bone's shaft in the 3D view now selects it. Before, only the joint balls did.

Even a hock left straight bends a little while the foot swings forward, so drag it into place before you bake.
