Guided rig keeps your markers where you put them

Only a real click places a marker now. The spine sits on the creature's midline, a pinned ankle stays on its marker, and markers on a turned model reach the fit where you placed them.

Several fixes, all about one rule: a marker you placed is a promise, and the fit keeps it.

  • Only a click places a marker. Pressing to turn the camera used to drop the current marker where you pressed. Now it is placed when you release the mouse without moving it. A press held too long shows a hint instead.
  • The spine sits on the midline. Centre markers (hips, shoulders, head, muzzle, tail) go on the creature's middle plane, and the other side is mirrored across that same plane. Before, both used the middle of the model's box, which is off-centre on a lopsided creature.
  • No sideways S in the spine. If the model's own origin was not in its middle, or you had moved it with Model position, the spine could bend out of the body and back. The fit now uses the plane your markers sit on.
  • A pinned ankle stays on its marker. A foot rule used to move it to the back of the sole.
  • Turned models: after a turn with Orientation, markers reached the fit squeezed towards the middle, so knees and ankles hung in the air between the legs. They now arrive exactly where you put them. A knee or ankle marker that misses the leg now keeps its height instead of sliding down to the foot.
  • Front wrist: on dogs, cats, foxes and other jointed front legs the marker formerly called Front knee is now named for what it is, the wrist. On hoofed animals it reads Front knee (its wrist). Saved markers are unchanged.

Fitted a turned model between 11 and 17 October? Press Fit from markers again; your markers are kept.
