Fins stay above the floor, legs stay in their skin
Two bake fixes found by re-baking every public creature at once.
We re-baked every creature in the gallery at the same time to see how MonRig holds up under load (it did: sixteen bakes in under four minutes, with the site fast throughout). Checking the results turned up two faults:
- Parts folded back into the floor. When a fin or tail had to fold up to clear the ground, the fold could be lost on the way into the file, leaving it up to 20 cm under the floor. Fixed; one of our creatures went from ten flagged clips to five.
- Skin cuts gave weight to the wrong bone. Outside a leg you had cut by hand, the weight the leg gave up could go to an unrelated bone, such as the head, and tear the mesh when that bone moved. It now goes to the bone the leg hangs from.
Both fixes apply on the next bake.
